These classes are approved by the Massachusetts State Police or State of Utah Bureau of Criminal Identification and do meet the requirements to apply for a LTC or an FID in the State of Massachusetts and a CCW in the State of Utah. Check with your city to see if live fire is needed..
Non-shooting course that teaches students the basic knowledge, skills, and the attitude necessary for the safe handling and storage of firearms and ammunition in the home.
This is a four-hour course for safe gun handling that is conducted in the classroom only. Students are taught NRA’s three rules for safe gun handling; primary causes of firearm accidents; firearm parts; how to unload certain action types; ammunition components; cleaning; care; safe storage of firearms in the home; and the benefits of becoming an active participant in the shooting sports. Students will receive the NRA Home Firearm Safety handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, Basic Firearm Training Program brochure, course completion certificate.
This class does meet the requirements for a Massachusetts FID or LTC in cities where live fire is not required.
The NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting is intended for all individuals regardless of previous shooting experience or NRA-affiliation. This course is at least 8-hours long and includes classroom and range time learning to shoot revolvers and semi-automatic pistols.
Students learn NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; pistol parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting from the bench rest position, and two handed standing positions; cleaning the pistol; and continued opportunities for skill development. Students will receive the NRA Guide to the Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules, and take a Basics of Pistol Shooting Student Examination, and course completion certificate.
Students can bring their own firearm or borrow one from us. It is recommended to bring 100 rounds of ammunition. We do have some ammunition available for purchase if needed.
This class does meet the requirements for a Massachusetts LTC or an FID card and does include live fire. It also meets the requirement for Florida, Connecticut and many other states requirements for a LTC/CCW.
This is the qualification required when applying for or renewing a Rhode Island Concealed Carry permit.
This qualification is pass or fail, any student that fails to qualify will have one additional attempt to qualify on the same day and time. If unable to qualify on either attempt students must reschedule (if desired) at an addition charge. Please ensure that you bring all required paperwork to the appointment
Price includes target and rental of a .45 1911 if needed. Ammunition is not included but is available for an additional cost.
Remember in Rhode Island what caliber you qualify on is the highest caliber you can carry. For example, if you qualify with a .45, you can carry .45 and below. if you qualify on a 9mm, you can carry a 9mm and below.
